Curriculum and Accelerated Programs
Academy of Little Learners offers a language rich learning environment creating a solid foundation and meaningful social experiences. Our Curriculum consists of Literacy including Reading and Literature, Print Concepts, Phonological Awareness, Writing, Speaking and Listening, and Language applicable to a range of subjects.
Math instructional time focuses on; representing, relating, and operating on whole numbers, initially with sets of objects and describing shapes and space.
Physical Health is offered through a variety of activities that focus on gross motor skills and making healthy choices.
In the afternoon we offer Accelerated Programs that can help your child excel in Literacy, Math, Science, and Spanish. We encourage each child’s emerging self and help guide them towards independence. We offer a positive school atmosphere where children strive to learn. Our Curriculum specialist works with our classroom teachers closely to ensure that the curriculum is well-integrated and age appropriate.
We also host many special events, including a Halloween Parade,
Thanksgiving Pow-wow, Thanksgiving Feast, Food for Families Drive, Christmas Show, Valentine’s Dance, Easter Egg Hunt, Mother’s Day Tea, Donuts with Dad, and a spectacular Graduation and more.
Academy of Little Learners emphasizes a strong partnership with our parents.
This is accomplished through several methods including frequent emails, written progress reports, newsletters, parent-teacher conferences, and Class Dojo.
We encourage involvement with our parents through periodic events, trips, and literary experiences where we ask the parents to attend and participate. Make your child feel special and enthusiastic about their learning experience. Participate and play a role!
